HPE is looking for a passionate software developer who is interested in developing tools for developers in the HPE Converged Infrastructure environment to significantly reduce inefficiency in the developer lifecycle end-to-end.
HPE OneView product is a Converged Infrastructure technology developed for a customer's environment to integrate, simplify, automate, virtualize and enable a more energy efficient infrastructure in order to increase performance by rapid provisioning, reduce operating costs and minimize environmental footprint.
We are looking for a passionate team player that wants to make a difference in a rapidly growing market and play a key role in the development of exciting new tools to help developer’s working in the HPE Converged space.
The ideal candidate is someone that enjoys taking on a variety of tasks helping to design, build and grow Developer Tools solutions and environments for the development community. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, learn new skills while improving on existing ones. This candidate will be passionate about DevOps practices and Agile (SCRUM) values. They will also have excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills and be able to interact with the developer community/customers and identify essential requirements. They will also be able to accurately estimate levels of effort. The individual must have high quality standards and have strong problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive results.
Design, Build and integrate developer tool solutions into developer infrastructure using the latest technologies and tools.
Communicate across development teams to understand customer requirements, tools needed, leverage existing tools and generalize usage.
Work on tools to help with getting code ready to submit more efficiently (dev, deployment & dev test environments).
Develop tools to help find issues earlier before submitting code (code analysis, code quality, code review tools).
Develop tools to help triage test/customer failures, defect origins for faster debug/fix turnaround.
Collaborate with Build and Infrastructure, Test and Quality teams on cross-organizational flow improvements in the development end-to-end lifecycle. Provide guidance on developer best practices and strategies to engineering teams.
Identify dependencies and requirements for ongoing development.
Be a part of distributed team in creating joint solution.
Drive quality into the product at every phase of development.
- Must be currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.
Skills and Knowledge:
Disciplined, structured programming skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development methodology (Agile-SCRUM).
Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills in a distributed environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work on and with remote teams.
Ability to work well and communicate with teams across the organization and other remote locations.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Enjoys working on variety of different projects/tools
Well-rounded skillset, do not need depth on one particular area but a wide breadth of knowledge and strong interest to tackle new problems and create solutions/tools.
Technical background in at least two of the following DevOps products/tools:
Experience with source control management systems (i.e. Git/Gerritt)
Java/Python, bash experience
Continuous integration experience (Jenkins)
Virtualization systems (VMWare)
Maven a plus
ELK stack a plus
Infrastructure provisioning - Ansible a plus
