Position Summary

The School of Education seeks applications between July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018, from individuals who are interested in securing temporary instructor positions on an as-needed basis within the Family and Consumer Sciences program for the 2017-2018 academic year. Instructors teach undergraduate pre-service teachers face-to-face and/or online in areas of their expertise and are hired periodically for fall, spring, and/or summer term, contingent upon enrollments and need. Reappointment may depend upon performance and the availability of funding. Conditions of Employment Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires)

Required Job Qualifications

• Earned masters degree in family and consumer sciences or a related field

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and service within the family and consumer sciences field of study (e.g., family and consumer sciences education, personal finance)

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Earned doctoral degree in family and consumer sciences or a related field

• Successful P-12 and/or post-secondary education teaching experience

• Evidence of successful collaboration with public school teachers and administrators

• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and practice

• Record of or evidence of potential for scholarship and publication in family and consumer sciences or a related fields
