The Revenue Cycle Manager (RCM) will possess professional experience in at least two areas of the Revenue Cycle: Patient Access, Health Information Management, and/or Patient Financial Services expertise. This position will be responsible for hands-on assessing, planning implementing and directing the transformation of key revenue cycle business processes. In addition to strong management skills, the RCM should possess a track record of successfully managing high performance, interdisciplinary teams to meet project milestones and achieving measurable performance outcomes.

This is a traveling position requiring 70%-80% travel.

The RCM will be responsible for project management during a CRCM implementation, solution design and implementation and generation of engagement results. Also, working with client project leaders and effectively using change management strategies, guides the client through transformation efforts. This position will perform any and all job related duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

Communication:

  • Provides regular project status updates to the project director and the project team.

General/Professional:

  • Actively participates in healthcare educational opportunities, such as HFMA audio-visual presentations, on-line research, accessing periodicals, PD initiatives and internal NCLC.

  • Demonstrates and begins applying a thorough understanding of the following:

  • Revenue Cycle processes/functions

  • Benchmarking methodologies (internal and external) for related revenue cycle functions

  • Financial impact that revenue cycle processes has on indicators such as Bad Debt, Charity, Allowances, and Denials

  • Demonstrates the ability to identify potential project risks/issues and determine appropriate courses of action/ resolution.

  • Focuses on quality and risk management at the project level. Takes action to address quality assurance issues on project team.

  • Demonstrates a positive, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude.

  • Utilizes technology to improve processes and engagement deliverables.

  • Determines what data to gather and quantity of data required, based on work plan and issue analysis

  • Generates options and creates means for gathering data which is not easily available

  • Validates recommended approach for data collection methods and ensures reliability and relevance of data collected

  • Analyzes data based on reasonable assumptions, factual information, and vision

  • Demonstrates the ability to assess analytical results, determine root cause issues, and propose solutions.

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of applicable experience in healthcare revenue cycle (at least 3 years in a hospital setting).

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • This is a traveling position requiring 70%-80% travel.

  • Must possess in depth experience in at least two of the following areas (Patient Access, Health Information Management or Patient Financial Services).
