Role Summary:

The Field Services Engineering Manager provides direction and assistance to work group to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will make decisions, apply concepts to issues of high technical complexity and define a vision to solve long term challenges that will translate in actions for FSE team to put in place.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for building strong long-term relationships with specific customers within the region

• Provide the operational leadership needed to drive profitable service growth

• Responsible for overall business management duties for assigned Field Service Engineers

• Provide accurate and timely information to assigned personnel regarding salary planning, performance appraisals, career coaching and disciplinary action as required

• Actively participate in EHS and develop a thorough understanding of GE’s EHS Policies and Procedures. Conduct work activities in a compliant manner adhering to the highest level of personal safety.

• Plan, organize, lead and execute complex projects involving internal / external labor and procurement of material.

• Assist in the development of job cost estimates and attend critical customer meetings.

• Interpret GE drawings and O & M manual that apply to the electrical equipment (i.e. ATSs, Switchgears and Switchboard, and related products)

• Send feedback to engineering team and manufacturing team for factory / Eng’g defects.

• Manage the customer expectation at the site and lead the GE field team to execute the startup and commissioning in an efficient way.

• Troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs based on the project requirements and make them ready for customer commissioning

• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites

• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages.

• Perform administrative functions; Create a detailed MOP for power system modification, startup and commissioning, writing technical reports, preparing job status reports, time sheet and expense sheets.

• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent software degree

• Experience with electrical power systems, preferably in switchgear/switchboard control and protection relaying circuit design.

• Experience with Communications standards.

• Experience paralleling generators utilizing advanced generator controllers, including Woodward generator control devices.

• 3-5 years Knowledge of PLC programming.

• 3-5 years Knowledge of HMI and SCADA programming.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75% of the time as required

• Must Possess a valid driver’s license
