Assure Wyoming's most vulnerable population are being taking care of by the right people, and Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) employees are paid accurately! The WDH is seeking an exceptional individual who possesses a rare combination of talent, drive, and intellectual prowess to fill our criminal history background check and systems position. This position has the opportunity to keep clients safe through background check reporting, work directly with staff on the Kronos helpdesk, and assist with system administration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.

  • Processes fingerprint cards which include reviewing completeness and scanning cards into DCI database.

  • Reviews, logs and submits Department of Family Services (DFS) Central Registry (CR) documentation for direct care positions within the WDH and for all providers' who receive waiver payments (W.S. 7-19-201).

  • Reviews and verifies through FBI, DCI and CR that person has not been convicted of an offense against persons as defined by Wyoming Statute.

  • Logs and prepares payments for fiscal deposit of payments received for fingerprint cards and SS-26. Invoices all direct bill providers monthly.

  • Helpdesk for questions and issues for the Kronos timekeeping system.

  • Back-up to the systems administrator with annual maintenance process.



Preference will be given to applicants with experience in performing background checks as described in the essential functions, and experience with databases and Kronos.


  • Must be detail oriented

  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks, emails, phones, people and additional requests.

  • Ability to organize data, track data and create reports accurately.

  • Ability to handle customers who are agitated.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Knowledge of Google Office products.

  • Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets and databases.

  • Ability to adjust background configuration in essential systems.



Bachelor's Degree (typically in Human Resources)



0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Human Resources) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Human Resources Associate I


Education & Experience Substitution:

3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Resources) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Human Resources Associate I

  • This job is performed primarily in a normal office setting.


  • FLSA: Non-Exempt

  • All new hires or rehires starting in a non-exempt position on or after January 1, 2018 are required to be paid hourly.
